Keyword Match Type Tool
Paste a keyword list, clean it up the way Google Ads expects, and get broad, "phrase", [exact] and negative versions ready to paste or import.
Your keywords
Already wrapped keywords are fine. Quotes, brackets, a leading minus and old +broad +modifier signs are removed first.

Spaces are always trimmed and collapsed. Google accepts & and accented letters; it rejects symbols such as , ! @ % ^ * ( ) = { } ; ~ ` < > ? \ | in keywords.

How match types work today
| Type and syntax | What it can match |
|---|---|
Broadrunning shoes | Searches related to the keyword, which can include searches that don't contain its words. |
Phrase"running shoes" | Searches that include the meaning of the keyword. Word order still matters. |
Exact[running shoes] | Searches with the same meaning or intent, including close variants such as plurals and misspellings. |
Negative broad-running shoes | Blocks searches that contain all the words, in any order. No close variants. |
Negative phrase-"running shoes" | Blocks searches with the words in this order, extra words allowed. |
Negative exact-[running shoes] | Blocks only the exact search, with no extra words. |
Broad match modifier (+running +shoes) is retired. Since July 2021 you cannot create new ones, and existing ones match like phrase match. Keywords can be at most 80 characters and 10 words.
